In 2004, Scorsese reunited with Leonardo DiCaprio in the $110 million budgeted film �The Aviator�. The film, which was a large-scale biopic of eccentric aviator pioneer and film producer Howard Hughes, received 11 Academy Award nominations, thus making it the most-nominated film of the 77th Academy Awards Nominations in 2005. It was also nominated for six Golden Globe awards, including Best Picture � Drama, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Actor � Drama. The first 50 minutes of the film appeared in shades of only red and cyan blue and Scorsese said that this was done to emulate the look of early bipack color movies.
